The tour starts by taking the train from Col du Pillon to the Scex Rouge mountain station. From there, you ski down to Col de Prapio and then put on your climbing skins. The ascent begins along the winter hiking trail or the piste to the upper part of the Glacier de Tsanfleuron near the chairlift mountain station. After a further small ascent, there is a fixed-rope section to Col du Dôme. For this section, you must carry your skis on your backpack. Afterwards, it goes down over a small cornice and then slightly uphill over the glacier to the summit. The ascent is rewarded with a magnificent panorama.
The descent first goes over the glacier along the ascent route and then over the steep, somewhat exposed south-facing slopes below "Le Dôme" back into the ski area (this variant is not recommended in hard conditions). Returning to Col du Pillon is either by train or by choosing the piste descent, which brings you - with an intermediate chairlift ride - down to the valley at Reusch.
