The tour starts by taking the train from Col du Pillon to the Scex Rouge mountain station. From there, you ski down to Col de Prapio and then put on your climbing skins. The ascent begins along the winter hiking trail or the piste to the upper part of the Glacier de Tsanfleuron near the chairlift mountain station. After a further small ascent, there is a fixed-rope section to Col du Dôme. For this section, you must carry your skis on your backpack. Afterwards, it goes down over a small cornice and then slightly uphill over the glacier to the summit. The ascent is rewarded with a magnificent panorama.

The descent first goes over the glacier along the ascent route and then over the steep, somewhat exposed south-facing slopes below "Le Dôme" back into the ski area (this variant is not recommended in hard conditions). Returning to Col du Pillon is either by train or by choosing the piste descent, which brings you - with an intermediate chairlift ride - down to the valley at Reusch.

The holiday region of Gstaad is located in the southwest of Switzerland, right on the border with the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily reachable by train or car from the Lake Thun region, the Lake Geneva area, and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed train network and to all international airports in Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and comfortable arrival. The main means of transport in the Gstaad region are the "MOB" train (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) and numerous post bus lines.

On the page "Arrival and Public Transport" at gstaad.ch you can find detailed arrival information.

    • For route selection as well as assessment of your own experience, fitness, and alpine dangers when touring uphill and downhill in alpine terrain, everyone is responsible for themselves.
    • Carefully plan each mountain route and adapt it to your own conditions as well as the weather and season.
    • The weather can change quickly in the mountains. Therefore, bring appropriate clothing and enough provisions and water. Turn back in case of uncertain weather.
    • Inform others about your route and if possible, never go alone.
    • Walking on ski slopes is prohibited.
    • Be considerate to other hikers as well as plants and animals.
    • Observe warning signs that indicate the constant danger in the riverbed and along the banks of watercourses below dams and water intakes.
