The route follows the Louwibach from Gstaad to Lauenen. A detour to the charming mountain village is worthwhile: It is characterized by old, well-preserved chalets and its 16th-century church. From Lauenen there are several paths to the idyllic Lauenensee. The hiking trail via Rohr is flat at first and rises quite steeply towards the end. The other paths are steadily gently ascending. Return to Gstaad by post bus.
