The route starts at the valley station of the Wasserngrat railway and leads fairly directly up to the mountain station. At the Wasserngrat mountain restaurant, you have the opportunity to stop and enjoy the fantastic view of the mountain landscape. Return to the start is either the same way or by chairlift.

Note: Pay attention to the operating times of the Wasserngrat chairlift.

  • Approach

    The holiday region Gstaad is located in the southwest of Switzerland, right at the border with the French-speaking part of the country. The region can be conveniently reached by train or car from the Thun Lake region, the Lake Geneva area, and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed rail network and all international airports in Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant journey. The main means of transport in the Gstaad holiday region are the "MOB" train (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) and numerous post bus lines.

    Snowshoe hikes should only be undertaken well-prepared (training, equipment) and with favorable weather and avalanche forecasts. The time indications are to be understood as guidelines for experienced snowshoers under good conditions.
