Easy MTB loop route with views over the Saanenland and the Gstaad mountain world. For experienced singletrail fans, an alternative is the trail directly under the cable car via Chälweid back to Gstaad. In spring and autumn, you can also reach Eggli with your bike via a comfortable gondola lift.

From Gstaad, the first section of this route leads via Saanen into the "Chalberhöni Valley". The route then climbs up to Alp Eggli. From here begins the descent via the gravel roads "Hindereggliweg" and "Tschaanereweg". At the next junction onto the asphalt road, turn sharply left and follow the "Flüemadstrasse" and "Meielsgrundstrasse" zigzagging down to Grund. Then the route continues on the "Bodenstrasse" back to Gstaad. The e-bike makes the climb to Eggli easier. Once at the top, a beautiful mountain panorama rewards the effort of the ascent. The route is very rideable in both directions.

For experienced singletrail fans, an alternative is the trail directly under the cable car via Chälweid back to Gstaad. In spring and autumn, you can also reach Eggli with your bike via a comfortable gondola lift.

  • Approach

    The Gstaad holiday region is located in the southwest of Switzerland, right at the border to the French-speaking part of the country. The region is easily accessible by train or car from the Lake Thun region, the Geneva area, and the Gruyère region. Direct connections to the European high-speed rail network and to all international airports in Switzerland guarantee a time-saving and pleasant arrival. Main means of transport in the Gstaad region are the "MOB" (Montreux-Oberland Bernois) train and numerous postbus lines.
